AGM Shetland Sheep Show, July, 2005
Our Shetlands did very well at their first Shetland Sheep show.
Woolly Kaitlyn came in first in the Mature Ewe Class and went on to win Grand Champion Ewe. Woolly Susan and Woolly Lucy came in second and third.
Woolly Monica came in first in the Ewe Lamb Class with Woolly Jenny and Woolly Jackie placing second and fourth. Monica went on to become the Reserve Champion Ewe.
Our three ewe lambs also placed first in the Get of Sire Class. They were sired by Woolly Aslan. Second and third place winners were all sired by rams from Woolly Acres.
Woolly Acres placed 3rd in the Breeder's Flock Class. First and second place winners were also sired by rams from Woolly Acres.
The Grand Champion Ram owned by Belmeadow Shetlands was sired by our Woolly Cimbeline and the Reserve Champion Ram owned by Homestead Shetlands was sired by our Woolly Braveheart.
Our ewes also placed well in the fleece on hoof category as well as in the AGM fibre show. To add to our good fleeces, we have purchased Homestead Hayley who won second place in the Lamb Fleece Class.
